Micah's 1st Week in Gaviotas Sur, Villahermosa with Elder Rankin

2-26-25

Quick summary of the week

Basically nothing crazy happened. Just working, and yup.

We did have zone conference on Monday, so that was chill. I was up until 12:30 the night before making a presentation that I have to do as a District Leader 😶

I think something else happened, but I kinda forgot.

Not too many people in teaching right now, and all but 2 of them aren't really progressing, but oh well. 1 of the two that is progressing, I think, has basically a 100% chance of getting baptized soon! His name is Roni, and he's the son of a recent convert named Gonzalo.

Last night there were a bunch of soldiers cruising around looking for someone. I don't think I mentioned in my last email, but there's a lot of violence in Villahermosa right now. Burning cars and chopped up humans, but yup.

My testimony for the week is that God loves you, and He wants to bless you and help you in your life, you just have to open your heart to Him! You are an infinitely loved child of God with a divine potential that you can't even comprehend! Let your Heavenly Father guide you towards your full potential! He will never withdraw His hand from your reach, and you are never too far gone. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thanks to the couple of you that reached out last week! I love hearing from you guys! Just to remind you though that I can only respond on Wednesdays, so if you email me throughout the week, my response will be delayed, but I will get back to you!

So feel free to message me!

Okay bye 👋

Micah's 19th and Final Week in Agua Dulce w/ Elder Gonzalez

2-19-25

Not too much to tell.
Today was transfer day, so now I'm serving in Gaviotas Sur in Villahermosa, Tabasco, still as District Leader, with my new companion; Élder Rankin (far left of the photo). This is part of my new district.

Yesterday, I said goodbye to a couple friends I had made in Sweetwater, ate dinner with the other 2 elders there, and now I'm here.

My testimony for the week is that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true Church of Christ, and that there is no other. The more I study both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, the more clear that truth becomes. The more I pray in search of the truth, the more my testimony of this restored gospel grows. If you ask in faith, with real intention, you too will receive a witness. I testify of this simple truth with all my heart and soul, in which there is no doubt, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Write me an email if you want!
I've only got a few months left, and I'm not planning on using social media after the mission, so you want to stay in touch, reach out! I'd like to catch up a bit on the lives of you guys as well.

Only Ismael would understand.

I finally got to try a chocolate Carlota.

This uber driver sent us this photo, so I just thought I'd share it with you.

Micah's 18th Week in Agua Dulce w/ Elder Gonzalez

 2-12-25

I got sick again!!

Yeah so that basically sums up my week.

The work is going pretty slow right now. Not many people in teaching, no one that's really progressing, but oh well.

Sunday, I started to not feel so great, so we went home and I rested.
Monday, I felt worse, so I stayed home all day.
Tuesday, I felt a bit better, rested until lunch, then after lunch we got back to work.
Now it's Wednesday again, I feel pretty good, but I kinda lost my voice, so yup.

Anyway, overall, things are going fine. This is the last week before transfers, so we'll see if they end up taking me out of this place or not. I can't say I'll exactly miss Sweetwater once I'm gone, but I'm so grateful for the miracles I've seen in this area.

My testimony today is that the Lord knows you! He knows you personally. What you've been through, what you're going through, and He's here to help you! Whatever is going on in your life, you don't have to go through it alone, because Christ already went through it all. You'll always have a friend in Christ. He will always be your comforter! Just open your hearts to see His hand work in your life!
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

So yeah, shoot me an email! I'd love to catch up with you!

Anyway, until next week!
